- Screenshots of bookmarked pages (captured automatically via browser extension, can be disabled in settings)
- Page content (when AI summarization features are enabled)
- Session cookies (for authentication between browser extension and web application)
- Usage data (features used, time spent, actions taken)
- Device and browser information (including extension version)
- IP address (for security and fraud prevention)
Browser Extension Data Collection
If you use our browser extension, we collect additional information as described below:
Browser Permissions:
Our browser extension requests the following permissions to function:
- activeTab: To capture the URL and title of the page you're bookmarking
- cookies: To read authentication cookies from app.savemylinks.io for seamless login
- storage: To save your bookmarks locally in your browser for offline access
- tabs: To access information about browser tabs when saving bookmarks
- Host permission (app.savemylinks.io): To communicate securely with our web application
When Data is Collected:
- When you click the extension icon to save a bookmark
- When the extension loads to check your authentication status
- When you search for bookmarks within the extension popup
- When you interact with extension features (folders, tags, etc.)
How Data is Collected:
- URL and page title are captured using the browser
tabsAPI when you save a bookmark - Screenshots are automatically captured using the
tabs.captureVisibleTabAPI (can be disabled in settings) - Authentication cookies are read from the app.savemylinks.io domain using the

What Happens to This Data:
- URLs, titles, notes, tags, and screenshots are sent securely to our Supabase database for cloud storage and sync
- Page content is sent to Google Gemini API for AI summarization only if you have enabled Pro AI features
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Authentication cookies are never sent to third parties and are only used to maintain your login session
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- To facilitate account creation and authentication
- To save, organize, and sync your bookmarks across devices
- To provide AI-powered features (search, summarization, tagging)
- To respond to user inquiries and provide support

- To process payments for premium features

We partner with the following third-party services to deliver our functionality:
Supabase (Database and Authentication)
Purpose: Hosts your bookmark data, manages user authentication and authorization, provides real-time synchronization across devices, and handles database operations.
Data Shared: Email address, encrypted passwords, bookmarks (URLs, titles, notes, tags, screenshots), folders, user preferences, and sharing permissions.
Data Location: Cloud infrastructure (United States region)

Google Gemini API (AI Features)
Purpose: Provides AI-powered bookmark summarization, automatic tagging, and semantic search capabilities for Pro users.
Data Shared: Bookmark URLs and page content (only when you explicitly enable AI features and use them).
User Control: AI features are opt-in for Pro users. You can disable these features at any time in your account settings to prevent data sharing with Google.

Payment Processors
Purpose: Securely process subscription payments for Pro features and premium plans.
Data Shared: Payment information (credit card details, billing address, transaction history).
Security: We use PCI-DSS compliant payment processors. We do not store your full credit card numbers on our servers.

Your Control:
You can choose not to use certain features that involve third-party data sharing (such as AI features). Disabling these features will prevent your data from being shared with the respective third-party services.

Browser Extension Cookie Usage:
Our browser extension reads authentication cookies from the app.savemylinks.io domain to maintain your login session. These cookies are set by our web application and allow you to use the extension without logging in separately. The extension does not create or modify cookies, only reads existing authentication tokens.
6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will keep your personal information for as long as you have an active account with us. When you delete your account:
- Your personal information will be deleted within 30 days
- Backups may retain information for up to 90 days
- We may retain anonymized usage data for analytics
- We may retain information as required by law
7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In Short: We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, and store it securely in browser storage and encrypted cloud databases.
Where Your Data is Stored
Browser Local Storage (Extension Only)
The browser extension stores authentication tokens and cached bookmark data locally in your browser using the browser storage API. This data remains on your device and is used for offline access and performance optimization.
Cloud Database (Supabase)
Your bookmarks, folders, account information, and user preferences are stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure, hosted in secure data centers in the United States. This enables synchronization across all your devices and collaboration features.
Security Measures
We have implemented appropriate security measures designed to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your browser, our extension, and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Encryption at rest: Database backups and stored data are encrypted at rest on Supabase servers
- Secure password hashing using industry-standard algorithms
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls and multi-factor authentication for administrative access
- Secure hosting infrastructure with DDoS protection
- Regular automated backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Do We Collect Information from Minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
Our Services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
